Clouds in My Coffee

McDonald's has started a new ad campaign in which they urge us to let them add the cream and sugar to our coffee. I wouldn't drink coffee from McDonald's unless Ronald McDonald himself ordered me to drink it at gun point. Even if I was a consumer of their coffee, why in the world would I trust the McDonald's workers to add my cream and sugar? I won't even let Luisa add the cream to my coffee and I've known her for 14 years.

The ads make it sound like this is a fabulous new service they are providing to customers. In searching for an image of the new ad to put on this blog, I found the following:

Now, I'm thinking they are just trying to avoid lawsuits. Maybe their next ads will suggest that they add Lipitor directly to the food to save everyone the trouble of those pesky trips to the doctor.

Well, ahem, TV commercial and then I saw a billboard on 35W north. I'll point it out next time we are driving downtown...

well thank goodness ronald mcdonald is no gangster. don't think you'll find yourself in that situation anytime soon. i love mcdonalds right now for 2 reasons:
1. $1 movie rentals
2. take 5 bar mc flurries

horray!

I do not like McDonald's unless I am having a serious craving for a sausage breakfast burrito...oh and when I was growing up I enjoyed their caramel sundae's, but coffee from Mickey D's -no thanks.

I told Jack for the longest time that McDonalds was poison, until Dylan finally stopped my tradition when Jack got in a fight (I call it an intervention) with another kid over it.

I started drinking wine at our favorite pizza place because an ex's wife is a bartender and I wanted to be able to see the spit.

Astonishingly, the McDonald's campaign is aimed at reclaiming market share lost to Starbuck's and the like.

I go for months without McDonald's and then one day I find myself standing in line with a Big Mac Attack.

I figure, I lead such a healthy lifestyle most of the time, my arteries can take the occasional McBurger.

My only point here is to see if my new icon works.

Hi. Just wanted you to know that I have now read several of your blogs. You're very funny and clever and poignant . . . but you knew I thought that already.

(I didn't know these were so short. I can do this. I've even been granted special time to myself this evening, as the kids are practically asleep, and Tim came home from work throwing up violently and is now sleeping it off. Ahhhh. Thank you, little flu bug.)
